Big Papa Hundo has been honored to provide life saving fireproofing and fire prevention services and education to the most iconic buildings and institutions in the United States.
He served as the President of the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association where he made certain that every single exhaust system service technician was the focus, because they are doing heroic work. They save the First Responders.
Behind the scenes Big Papa Hundo was an advocate and activist for medical and recreational marijuana.
Big Papa Hundo has long suffered a variety of conditions for which medical marijuana was extremely effective in treating and managing.
BIG PAPA HUNDO DOES NOT ADVOCATE USING MARIJUANA WHEN ENGAGING IN YOUR OCCUPATION UNLESS EVERYONE IS AWARE AND APPROVES AND IT IS WITHIN YOUR COMPANY GUIDELINES
I have this to say about that.....
I was absolutely stone cold sober when servicing kitchen exhaust systems and you should be too.
Being at the top of Freedom Tower, or the Wynn Las Vegas, or lets say... the STRATOSPHERE TOWER.......
Working with HIGH CAUSTIC CHEMICALS
Working with HIGH PRESSURE POWERWASH EQUIPMENT
Working on LADDERS LIFTS AND HANGING DOWN A HIGH RISE VERTICAL EXHAUST DUCT IN MIDTOWN MANHATTAN is NOT the place where I consider RELAXING.
Once I finished my responsibilities I chose safe medical consumption to treat my medical conditions.
I LOVE OUR FIRST RESPONDERS
My love for fire prevention and those who engage in it is so strong that I took an oath to never take my medication again if I was selected as a Fire Inspector with Golder Ranch Fire Department.
I stopped my medication with THC months prior to the application and was prepared to be FIT FOR DUTY every single MOMENT for the REST OF MY LIFE.
Luckily there was an incredible talent pool and I was not selected for the role.
Having stopped my THC medication and switched to what was given to me by the medical system my health rapidly deteriorated.
I lost the ability to walk and my will to live.
I decided that if the medication they were giving me was making me prefer death over life, there was truly no point to either.
So I did what I knew and put my life on the line by stopping all medication except Rick Simpson Oil.
Today I am able to walk. In fact I JUMP.
I am however ABSOLUTELY UNFIT FOR DUTY and will continue to be as such.
I SALUTE ALL OF THOSE WHO ARE FIT FOR DUTY AND LOVE EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE FIRST RESPONDERS FOR WHAT YOU DO EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY.
THANK YOU!

Putting my GOOD where it will do the MOST
Wavy Gravy has been teaching us how we can make the world a little better every single day.
I am not Jack Grace who is Dying any longer
for as long as I remain I am
Big Papa Hundo who is LIVING
I am currently working to raise awareness for what matters most and what is keeping me alive. Closets are not a good environment.
I am from a time in American History where ONE SEED was a felony, being queer was in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of mental disorders, and it was believed that AIDS was spread by sitting on a toilet seat
My perspective is a little different
It is terrifying to know that stigma and legal problems block access for patients to medical marijuana.
It is disheartening to know that stigma and legal problems block access for PEOPLE to smoke a little grass man.....
It is time to END STIGMA
HONEST CONVERSATIONS SOLVE PROBLEMS
TO BE CLEAR - THERE IS NO ENDORSEMENT OF MARIJUANA BY ANY CHARITIBLE ORGANIZATION OR COMPANY THAT I WORK TO SUPPORT
What I am doing is putting my GOOD where it will do the MOST to support the causes that I believe can have the MOST GOOD impact to ensure the world keeps getting a little better every single day!
I am sharing my message that I am ALIVE TODAY and LOVE BEING ALIVE because of Medical Marijuana. I ENJOY life more with RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA.
If your MEDICINE
Makes you HAPPY
Improves your QUALITY of LIFE
THAT SHOULD BE THE POINT
Look at what we have done to TEACH people to love each other no matter their skin color, their religious faith, their CHOICE TO USE MARIJUANA or their CHOICE TO CHOOSE NOT TO USE MARIJUANA, their sexual orientation and gender identity...... The WORLD HAS CHANGED FOR THE GOOD IN SO MANY WAY BUT THE WORK IS NEVER DONE!
It is THEREFORE the RESPONSIBILITY of those of us who are facing the end of our time to make sure the NEXT GENERATIONS know the history, understand how to make positive change and how to Put their GOOD where it does the MOST!
For 23 years I have been BLESSED to know so many wonderful friends and family of the Hog Farm Family
I have been honored to share the message of the good that SEVA and CAMP WINNARAINBOW have done for the world
Reminder - Camp Winnarainbow is a Circus and Performing arts camp for CHILDREN. Big Papa Hundo says KEEP KIDS KIDS and TEACH YOUR CHILDREN WELL. They are ALL MIRACLES.....
Oh Yeah.....
Miracle Cassidy Grace
Was first seen on Ultrasound on August 9, 1995
I will never forget coming home from seeing Miracle for the first time and there were 13 messages on my answering machine.....
Jerry Garcia Passed away
Bob Weir played Bombs Away
On January 31, 1996
Miracle Cassidy Grace was born
In order to care for my little family I moved from Tucson Arizona to a town with a smaller population but what I believed a LOT of potential....
Las Vegas Nevada
I was given 24 hours in December of 1996 to fly to Las Vegas with my daughter and at that time partner to find a place to live.
I picked a place even though where I would be working geographically had not yet been disclosed and took us all
TO THE TOP OF THE STRATOSPHERE TOWER
To dine at the Top of the World
I didn't have much, but I wanted to give them Las Vegas
Ironically the apartment I selected (Mostly because of the giant BATHTUB.... yeah total PISCES...)
I found out that the business was on the same block
Excellent luck
777
Though I was in my early 20's I supported a family of four on my salary and my partner worked on getting educated
I continued to be as active as I could in the causes I believed in and sneaking off to Amsterdam to learn how we could get the rest of the world to understand that if we are open and honest about marijuana society will improve not destruct
As the internet became a thing I was able to find what Wavy Gravy was up to and immediate knew that was the place where the MOST GOOD was happening
So yes there is a LOT MORE WHY AND HOW BUT WHO
and its
MIRACLE CASSIDY ROSSO
NOW BY THE WAY
Anyhow... yeah she knows whats up whats up with CAMP WINNARAINBOW
So I am STILL ALIVE in '25
SPREADING MY MESSAGE that I am ALIVE to do GOOD because of MARIJUANA - ABSOLUTELY NOT endorsing ANYONE do ANYTHING but what is RIGHT for THEM.

"Big Papa Hundo" is the persona of Jack Grace, a marijuana legalization activist, educator, and entertainer. He is also a survivor who credits medical marijuana (Rick Simpson Oil) with helping him through a terminal health diagnosis, which he developed after exposure to asbestos during his career in fire prevention services.
Key aspects of Big Papa Hundo/Jack Grace:
Medical Marijuana Advocate: He actively advocates for the use of medical marijuana and shares his personal story of recovery.
Fire Prevention Expert: Jack Grace is the former President of the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association and an expert in fire prevention for commercial buildings. He has worked on iconic structures like the Freedom Tower and the Empire State Building.
Child Actor: As a child, he was a classically trained actor who appeared in various productions, including Little House on the Prairie and Father Murphy. He was involved in radio, TV, print, film, and all manner of stage theater productions. He portrayed a vir
Philanthropy: He supports charitable causes, such as Camp Winnarainbow (a circus and performing arts camp founded by Wavy Gravy) and the SEVA Foundation, often by auctioning items like his "kicks" (shoes).
DOG "Disciple Of Gravy": Big Papa Hundo, Jack Grace, has known Wavy Gravy for over 20 years. He considers himself a disciple to the clown prince elder statesman of counterculture Wavy Gravy and a faithful keeper of promises of continuing the traditions of selfless service made by Big Papa Hundo, Jack Grace, to Wavy Gravy and Jahanara.
BPH Acronym: Big Papa Hundo uses the BPH acronym usually with a heart and fist bump logo or Star logo to represent Big Papa Hundo. This is also a Big Papa Hundo inside joke as he often says BPH or at least Be Phish a play on adding ish to something indicating at least a passive acceptance of the concept and also incorporating the name of the band PHiSH by simply adding a bit of passive acceptance to BPH.
Online Presence: He uses social media platforms like YouTube and Facebook to share his message and humor.
He is known for his advocacy work and his unique personal story of survival and activism.

Camp is for KIDS..... but you are talking about MARIJUANA!
WHAT THE HAPPY HECK IS WRONG WITH YOU BIG PAPA?
Well, I have some medical conditions as y'all know.... but what you are actually asking is VALID and should be adressed QUITE CLEARLY
I have worked to NORMLize and Legalize Marijuana and I believe we need to have HONEST conversations in order to be AUTHENTIC in our LIVES
The world has changed thank GOODNESS and WAVY and JAHANARA and YOU!
No longer is Marijuana the scourge of society that it was painted to be
Adults should have the right to make the choice to use or not use marijuana just the same as they have the choice to use or not use salt
It is no longer acceptable to treat Marijuana as TABOO
Say Marijuana
Say it with me
Feels good right?
Feels RIGHT RIGHT?
Yeah that is more like it.
Adults in our society have a medical need or a recreational wish and if they are ADULTS that should be their right.
Parents, trust me I know, can sometimes really use a joint...... that should in my opinion be about as big of a deal as sometimes salting their French fries
When we treat the act of consuming Marijuana as taboo, when we hide the truth we are not in my opinion teaching our children well
If you want your children to believe you start by telling the truth
I do not believe that children should be consuming recreational marijuana but if a child has a medical need there is simply no better medication other than laughter
I also believe that the way we teach is by having HONEST conversations
END STIGMA
The is NOTHING WRONG with Enjoying Marijuana
So in summary it is my belief that it is time for HONEST conversations about Marijuana. My life depends on it so yeah I feel strongly about it
I also believe that KIDS should be KIDS
No one that I do work for charitable or otherwise endorses the use of Marijuana unless you hear differently from them, my message is a personal one and not the opinion of anyone else
The cause that I am trying to help is funding the camp where my children were campers, teen staff, counselors and have gained a lifetime of positive messages and lessons from
I believe the work of the Hog Farm Family and Friends is truly the GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH
Therefore as I have had to face everyday being perhaps my last, I wanted to help ensure the future of an organization that helps kids become better adults
So yeah, no weed at camp kids.
Sorry, Not SORRY!
Y'all are smart enough and dedicated enough to read all that then you UNDERSTAND
Thank you sincerely for supporting my efforts to support Camp

POP UP ACTIVISM AND ENTERTAINMENT TO BE ANNOUNCED ON INSTAGRAM
"My BELOVED Vans Hot Pink Still ALIVE in '25 TOUR "JUMPERS" have been the most fun little campers I have yet encountered!"
BIG PAPA HUNDO is currently wearing Joy and Hope, a clown joke on the name of th GRACE AND JOY SCHOLARSHIP FUND OF WAVY GRAVY and JAHANARA ROMNEY'S CAMP WINNARAINBOW.
"The joke is that I called my kicks Joy and hope rather than grace and joy... I then played the joke on to state that I renamed Joy because my name used to be Grace and my daughter's name used to be Grace and so we just renamed Grace to Joy but actually the joke is that it was hope all along that was a replacement for Grace as a joke and there's a lot more complexity to it beyond that but it's a joke that's really complex or something" stated Hundo.
The shoes have made three jumps off the stratosphere Tower, founded the Grateful living intentional community, established Big Papa Hundo Island, cleaned up the Eel River, met over 10,000 people telling them the story of Wavy Gravy, made a 1200 mile drive for raising awareness for marijuana patients, were shown at the Brooklyn Chop House Times Square for Halloween, and so much more that y'all don't know yet... The shoes will be auctioned off with all funds raised going to Camp Winnarainbow.
"I was the president of an international not for profit trade business association. I understand the complexities of how a not-for-profit operates and so rather than declaring that it was going to the specific scholarship fund I invented the joy and Hope scholarship fund which is essentially going to be up to the discretion of the wonderful team at Camp Winnarainbow to determine where to put that GOOD where it WILL DO the MOST.
Jack Grace CECS/CESI is the past President of the International kitchen exhaust cleaning association, a not-for-profit trade association specializing in fire protection for commercial buildings. He is recognized as one of the foremost experts in the field in the world. His work presenting to fire inspectors and fire chiefs across the United States is a tribute to his commitment and dedication to his field. As a result of his work in the fire prevention industry he had exposure to a lot of things including asbestos that took a toll on his health. He was given a terminal diagnosis while living in New York City performing fire prevention work for such iconic buildings as freedom Tower, One world trade, four world trade, Chrysler building, empire State building, and of course his favorite client the BROOKLYN CHOP HOUSE. Upon hearing the news and living on the 5th floor of a five-floor walk-up which means no elevator, and losing the ability to walk, he made the decision to spend his end of life back in Tucson Arizona with his parents. Jack struggled with his health and lost the ability to walk for a time. The treatments he was given from the medical system made his quality of life unlivable. " When the treatment is worse than the sickness and there is no happiness and no joy in life, what is the point?"
While his career in fire prevention was forefront for the world to see there was quite a bit going on behind the scenes. He was involved with wavy gravy and Camp Winnarainbow as well as a number of projects that involved Humboldt County and legalization marijuana. Throughout his life Jack starting as a young child has faced multiple times when the medical system has told him he was going to die including his parents being told that he would never live past 13 and never walk. Believing in the value of medical marijuana and advocating for its use and legalization Jack was able to overcome a number of his health issues. When the final round of terminal diagnoses came and the medicine was just not working, Jack decided to switch entirely to Rick Simpson oil or RSO a highly concentrated form of medical marijuana that is illegal most places unfortunately because it saved his life. Jack regained the ability to walk and in spite of his severe PTSD from being beaten severely while protecting a young queer person who is being attacked in New York City, he was actually able to re-enter the workforce and was working as a budtender in Tucson Arizona. Jack had an incident of PTSD while at work and was terminated. He was subsequently denied his medical marijuana from the location but told he was welcome to go to another location even though he was having an active PTSD attack and a panic attack. Jack decided at that moment that he was going to symbolically die as the medical facility didn't care if he lived or died and he decided no one else did either. Jack Grace died the day he was denied medical marijuana and the facility has never apologized.
Jack Grace decided that instead of being Jack Grace who is DYING and no one cared, he was going to reborn as BIG PAPA HUNDO who is LIVING and dedicate the rest of his days to the mission of his hero mentor and friend the MC of WOODSTOCK Wavy Gravy and Wavy's incredible wife Jahanara Romney. After recovering from the PTSD incident that resulted in him losing his job he visited with Wavy and Jahanara to discuss with them his change of life, to tell them all the good that they have done for the world, to promise them that he was going to keep the flame bright for the force of peace and love and goodness in the universe.
As he promised Jahanara and Wavy, he is going to do everything in his power to make the world a little better every single day. He is going to put his good where it does the most. He is going to build up his mouth by kissing. He's going to get out of here knucklehead that he is, and go do the most good.
Big Papa Hundo, formerly Jack Grace, has a long history with Humboldt County. Probably best not to talk about all of that right now but suffice to say he's deeply rooted in the culture and legalization movement..... A part of that is his love of the 4% of redwood forest that exists. 96% of our redwood forests are gone forever. It would take 2,000 years and a lot of land we no longer have to put it back so we've got to protect what we have. His environmental activism and direct community involvement have been a part of his life that he treasures. His recent activism work has included his move to Big Papa Hundo Island, an approximately mile-long Island in the middle of the eel River that sits on private property but was badly trashed. He works daily on cleaning up the island and creating ecoArt that is by its own nature something that is temporary and something that will not change or destroy the beauty of the environment in which it was found. Using natural materials collected and trash such as tires that were pulled from the river to create displays and educational installations on the island where he plans to give small walking tours starting in the springtime. Limited tours have been conducted but the work is just begun. For those who do not know the Eel River is extremely wild. The island itself is likely to be completely swallowed by the river during the high water season meaning that the entire project on the island will start anew when the water recedes. He is very fond of the concept of temporary impact on the Earth and is quick to point out that "All of us are on the earth temporary we just conveniently forget that sometimes and that's unfortunate because it allows us to say and do things thinking that there are no consequences. I live my day everyday knowing that I'm past my expiration date and I'm lucky to be alive. I'm tired of serving the interests of the greedy and ready to serve the interest of the needy and I do every single day of my life now."
The moniker of Humboldt Lorax Clown was coined by Hundo to encapsulate the spirit of his environmental activism and provide a slightly more short people (kid) friendly version of his clown persona.
"I used to drive jungle Cruise boats in 1993 for Walt Disney world in Florida as in intern in the Disney University college program. I also ran the arcade and amusement center at New York New York hotel and casino called Coney Island emporium. I raised two kids, and made sure that they went to camp Winnarainbow when they were camper age and they both became teen staff and adult staff and have a lifetime connection and the best friends the world could ever ask for as a result and I'm so proud and pleased of my kids. I'm proud of all the kids, I love children but the topics I deal with as an activist and the Hell's Kitchen Manhattan seasoned mouth tend to be a 21 plus sort of a situation. I definitely can keep it at a duller roar around children but My work is for their future and the future of their kids kids kids.*
The Humboldt Lorax Clown persona is still Big Papa Hundo, just another layer of the onion that is being revealed
According to his writings, bigpapahundo (Jack Grace) believes that corporate greed is turning the cannabis industry into a "money machine with no heart," which threatens to crush small, boutique growers like those in Humboldt County.
Of his many colorful self coined expressions, big papa Hundo coined the specific term "greed weed," his opinions directly address the negative impacts of large-scale commercialization on legacy cannabis communities.Bigpapahundo's Stance on Corporate Cannabis
Jack Grace argues that the commercialization of cannabis has led to a market that prioritizes profit over patients and quality. His key concerns include:
Relevance to Humboldt County
Grace's views mirror the well-documented struggles of legacy cannabis growers in Humboldt County, who are facing intense pressure from corporate competition and regulation. The impacts on these growers include:

From the Shadows to the LIMELIGHT: The Strategic evolution of Big Papa Hundo in the Global Cannabis Rights Movement
Abstract
This paper analyzes the trajectory of Jack Grace, publicly known as "Big papa hundo," examining his transition from a niche countercultural figure and veteran highly revered fire safety industry expert to a globally recognized activist for marijuana legalization and prisoner advocacy in 2025.
By synthesizing digital ethnography, case study analysis of the Jarred Shaw legal intervention in Indonesia, and an examination of his "pop-up activism" methodology, this study argues that Big papa hundo represents a new paradigm of "hybrid activism."
This model effectively merges the theatrical absurdity of the 1960s counterculture—inherited from his mentor Wavy Gravy—with the precision of modern digital mobilization and high-stakes diplomatic advocacy.
The paper further explores the duality of his persona as both a rigid fire safety professional and his whimsical, chaotic, yet highly effective and unforgettable "Humboldt Lorax Clown," positing that this dichotomy allows him to navigate diverse socio-political landscapes inaccessible to traditional activists.
1. Introduction: The Duality of the "Operator"
For decades, the marijuana legalization movement has been populated by visible figureheads—politicians, dispensary owners, and lobbyists.
In contrast, the figure known as "Big papa hundo" operated largely in the periphery, an "intentionally well-kept secret" rooted in the Emerald Triangle’s legacy culture. Like most traditional marijuana legalization fighters, his anonymity was a neccesity.
Beneath the persona lies Jack Grace, a highly respected expert in commercial fire safety and former President of the International Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Association (IKECA).
This professional background in life-safety protocols provides a critical, often overlooked, foundation for his activism.
Unlike purely ideological actors, Grace possesses a technocratic understanding of regulation and compliance, which he later weaponized in his advocacy for cannabis safety and legalization.
Until 2025, his activism was primarily "done in the shadows" with an intentional choice of letting the results of his advocacy and efforts be the reward rather than building a brand of himself. He has participated in countless projects and activist educational summits as well as dotting the landscape with his "hidden in plain sight" ephemeral art installations, localized environmental cleanups in Humboldt County, and support for the SEVA Foundation.
He remained "elusive," a strategic choice that allowed him to build a network of "countercultural credibility" without the burnout or scrutiny of public office.
2. Theoretical Framework: The "Disciple of Gravy" and Joyful Dissent
Big papa hundo’s ideological lineage is explicitly traced to Wavy Gravy, the peace activist and Woodstock emcee. Grace identifies as a "Disciple of Gravy" (DOG), adopting a philosophy of "joyful service" or Seva. This theoretical framework distinguishes his activism from the often combative rhetoric of modern political discourse.
The Clown as Trojan Horse: By adopting the persona of the "Humboldt Lorax Clown," Grace disarms opponents and bypasses the defenses typically raised against political activists. This "clown" identity acts as a Trojan horse, allowing him to deliver serious policy critiques regarding medical access and drug sentencing under the guise of performance art. He may seem silly, but he has the upper hand with each move a calculated part of his life artistry.
Pop-Up Activism: His methodology involves "pop-up" events—such as unannounced river cleanups or art installations using recovered trash—which create "spectacles of responsibility". These events are designed to be viral moments, translating physical direct action into digital content that proliferates via his platform, bigpapahundo.com, and social media channels like Instagram where he has settled as his primary social media outlet.
3. The 2025 Pivot: The Jarred Shaw Case and Global Recognition
The pivotal moment in which the strategic decision was made to allow his "If You Know You Know" anonymity to be shattered as he took the proverbial gloves off to attempt to make a public outcry to try to save American Basketball player JARRED SHAW from the Death penalty in Indonesia.
Big Papa Hundo was outraged that a medical marijuana patient was facing death by the firing squad and that death sentence was imminent. He made the strategic decision to make a splash into the 30,000 attendees at the MJBizCon in Las Vegas, Nevada to very loudly and publicly raise awareness and steer the conversation about Marijuana prisoners.
Big papa hundo’s anonymity was intentionally sacrificed to lend his unique brand of spectacle and well practiced art of CEO Level Key Note speaker out of the bag catapulting him into the global spotlight.
The Crisis: Shaw faced the death penalty or life imprisonment for importing 132 cannabis-infused gummies, which he used to manage Crohn's disease. Indonesia maintains some of the world's strictest narcotics laws, making this a high-stakes diplomatic incident.
The Intervention: Big papa hundo met with constituents and advocates of the last prisoner project, pledging his support and brainstorming the best was to reach the most people who would likely recognize that, as Big Papa Hundo described, "Jarred Shaw facing the death penalty for 132 gummies and being held in prison where he cannot get safe access to the medication he needs to treat his incurable Crohn's is torture. There was no single greater cause or issue facing the cannabis universe then saving the life of this man."
Big Papa Hundo leveraged his own narrative as a survivor who credits Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) with saving his life, and immediately mobilized a "rapid response" coalition.
Collaborating with civil rights advocate Donte West, whom Big Papa Hundo sees as a hero in the battle to free marijuana prisoner and attorney John Morgan, Big Papa Hundo utilized his substantial audience and his unique mastery of the digital platform to internationalize the case, framing it not as a drug trafficking issue but as a medical human rights crisis.
The Outcome: In December 2025, the Indonesian court sentenced Shaw to 26 months—a stunning reduction from the threatened death penalty.
This victory was widely attributed to the pressure generated by the coalition big Papa Hundo helped lead.
Big Papa Hundo has deflected credit for Shaw's sentence insisting that he is simply a noisemaker and a messenger, crediting Donte West and John Morgan along with Deshaun Durham, Kyke Page among many many others.
The strategic decision to have a highly public "reveal" of Big papa hundo who was already well known to classic freedom fighters and those in the know in the circles where he operated is widely hailed as a key strategic move in bringing attention and focus to the Shaw case at the moment in time when Jarred Shaw's life was in immediate peril.
As a result of his recognition of the immediacy of need for the "Humboldt Lorax Clown" to speak for the voiceless, he did so in the manner that Seuss' original Lorax is often described. A loud, persistent to the point of annoying, ideologically immovable and unforgettable icon for the oppressed.
The result of his specatcle, in which he planned and executed a controlled jump from the 820' tall STRATOSPHERE TOWER in Las Vegas just as the main convention floor was closed down providing and unforgettable encore to the 30,000 attendees was that he has been recognized as a key player in this diplomatic win. Big Papa Hundo transformed from a regional Humboldt and greater Emerald Triangle figure into a high profile global marijuana activist and educator devoted to fighting incareration and antiquated laws that punish medical marijuana patients.
4. Advocacy for Medical Autonomy: The RSO Doctrine
Central to Big papa hundo’s platform is the advocacy for Rick Simpson Oil (RSO), a full-spectrum cannabis extract. Grace’s activism is deeply personal; he claims RSO played a crucial role in his own survival of a severe health crisis.
De-stigmatization: By publicly detailing his medical history, Big Papa Hundo challenges the "stoner" stereotype, replacing it with the image of a patient-survivor. His website serves as an educational hub, demystifying RSO and advocating for the "whole plant" pharmaceutical model over isolated compounds.
The "Fire" Metaphor: Interestingly, his professional expertise in fire prevention parallels his medical advocacy. Just as he spent a career preventing fires in major facilities across the United States and beyond, his activism seeks to prevent the "physiological fires" of inflammation and disease through cannabis use, framing the plant as a life-safety tool rather than an intoxicant.
Big Papa Hundo is aware of how his previous peers within the highly structured world of fire and life safety view his current role and is quick to remind his viewers that, "When you are on the job in a high risk environment or even a low risk environment where you're not allowed to use substances, the only thing you should be on when you're on the job is the job. All of the fire prevention work that I did was 100% Stone Cold sober. My use of medical marijuana was limited to my own personal time and I would suffer with my own medical conditions rather than risk life and property by being high on the job."
He also points out without softening his point that he feels that there should be a more realistic approach to marijuana use in the workplace when it is acknowledged and acceptable to the owners of the business.
"There are a great many careers in which it would be beneficial to involve marijuana if those individuals wish to consume marijuana. There are so many businesses where it's a wink and a nod and it should just be an honest conversation. It's either a yes or a no. If it's not acceptable to your employer or it makes your co-workers uncomfortable then you ever responsibility to stay sober on the job. End of story. On the other hand if it is acceptable with your coworkers and your management then I don't see anything wrong with it providing that the job you're doing isn't going to risk the public safety if you are enjoying the recreational or medical benefits of marijuana."
5. Conclusion: The Future of Hybrid Activism
As of late 2025, Big papa hundo stands as a unique case study in modern advocacy. He successfully transitioned from an "intentionally well-kept secret" to a public powerhouse without abandoning the countercultural roots that grant him authenticity. His ability to pivot from hyper-local environmentalism (Eel River cleanups) to high-stakes international diplomacy (the Shaw case) suggests a new model for activists: one that is independent, digitally fluent, and capable of leveraging "elusiveness" as a strategic asset.
The "Big papa hundo" phenomenon demonstrates that in the digital age, the most effective activists may not be the ones seeking the limelight, but those who know how to direct it when the moment strikes.

The Deep Roots of Cannabis Legalization

JARRED SHAW is facing the DEATH PENALTY for MEDICAL MARIJUANA. That is HOT NOT OK!
KMUD Radio's "uniquely countercultural" programming recently featured a segment involving someone identified as "bigpapahundo" discussing American basketball player Jarred Shaw and his 26-month sentence in Indonesia. Jarred Shaw was facing a potential death penalty for importing cannabis-infused gummies into Indonesia, where drug laws are extremely strict. Shaw's legal team successfully argued that the cannabis was for medical use to manage his Crohn's disease, resulting in the comparatively reduced sentence of 26 months. The discussion on KMUD appears to have highlighted this specific case as a notable example of the Indonesian legal system's potentially stunning reversal in drug sentencing, moving away from the typical death penalty stance. The exact nature of "bigpapahundo's" involvement or reveal was not specified in search results beyond their post referencing the radio segment. For more details on KMUD's programming, you can visit the Redwood Community Radio Archive.

The #132Protest is an active and rapidly growling global social media campaign initiated by Big Papa Hundo to support American basketball player Jarred Shaw, who was facing a potential DEATH PENALTY in Indonesia for POSSESSING 132 MEDICAL MARIJUANA GUMMIES he used to successfully treat his Crohn's disease.
The campaign's impact extends beyond Shaw's individual case :
Humanitarian Advocacy:
The protest was designed by Jack Grace, operating under his underground activist identity as Big Papa Hundo the Humboldt Lorax Clown, to illustrate and ridicule the extreme discrepancy between harsh international drug laws and humanitarian uses of cannabis as medicine.
Big Papa Hundo has expressed that the imprisonment for anyone over marijuana is unacceptable and that the #132protest is about safe access for medical marijuana patients and for the rights to adults choosing if they wish to engage with recreational marijuana without the fear of government intervention let alone the threat of death by the firing squad.
The #132 protest shifted the narrative from a simple "law-breaking" case to one involving medical necessity, a key factor in securing a reduced 26-month prison sentence instead of capital punishment for Jarred Shaw.
Global Awareness: Big Papa Hundo's #132Protest generated widespread international media coverage, sparking global conversations about the morality and proportionality of severe anti-drug laws compared to global standards of justice and human rights.
Big Papa Hundo has long operated as a silent humanitarian and marijuana activist, enjoying the fact that Big Papa Hundo was an intentionally well kept secret underground figure, whilst carrying out his trademark pop up performance art and activism.
As an elusive street artist his works are well known. Hundo's large scale art protest and social commentary pieces, ephemeral in nature, are as likely to be hidden in plain sight as they are to be in the most inaccessible corner of the forest releasing back into nature.
Hundo recognized the urgency of the situation as the clock was ticking for Jarred Shaw and decided to trade his "if you know you know" anonymity, take the ball, and to step to the line, literally Jumping into the limelight in order to help save Jarred Shaw.
"The Humboldt Lorax clown is absolutely modeled after the original components and you must remember that the Lorax is by design persistent, annoying, constantly in your ear, he's the archetype that is necessary to get the point across. I know he's a hot lot I get it..." Said Big Papa Hundo, "but I knew that if he stuck his clown nose into it that the bear would take care and we would get a medical marijuana miracle made "
So the #132Protest was launched and Big Papa Hundo jumped onto the stage with the swagger of his years of keynote speaking and leading an international not-for-profit trade association overseeing fire protection and helping to shape international codes and standards such as the NFPA 96 and the IKECA ANSI C10 standard.
As Jack Grace, CECS/CESI he was the president of the international kitchen exhaust cleaning association and also was the MC and frequent presenter at the conferences of the association.
He will tell you he's more proud of being a skipper on the Walt Disney World jungle Cruise where another of his icons Robin Williams was once a jungle skipper as well.
"The connection to Robin Williams is so important to me because as we know he played patch Adams in the patch Adams film which I highly recommend you watch twice today, but Robin Williams is not patch in fact patch is patch. Patch and miracle were pen pals for many many many years and I'm fairly sure they still are because they're both still alive in 25..." Said Hundo.
Challenging Drug Policy Rhetoric: The #132Protest campaign is actively going into 2026 loudly and proudly ridiculing the "it's the law" justification for capital punishment in drug cases, encouraging a broader public discourse about whether all laws, particularly those seen as inhumane or disproportionate, should be immune to criticism. Through his new kicks in 26 tour and it's mandala of philanthropic humanitarian causes, the #132Protest is a Hallmark of his upcoming circus of entertainment, education, peaceful resistance, marijuana, and of course Big Papa Hundo and whichever of his new kicks in 26 are on the DOG'S dogs.
Platform for Medical Cannabis: The protest is providing a global platform for cannabis activists, all welcomed warmly by Big Papa Hundo, to educate the public on the medicinal properties of THC and the urgent need for global medical access without fear of legal persecution.
The #132Protest is an active global campaign launched by Big Papa Hundo, bigpapahundo, that says no matter what your personal choices are about marijuana, you recognize that it is a medicine and it is inspiration and healing. Stand with us #132Protest. Big Papa Hundo New Kicks in 26 TOUR.
